About Dental Implants
Implant dentistry is a long-lasting and effective treatment for replacing one lost tooth or several and restore your beautiful smile. MINT dentistry is excited to use dental implants with custom restorations for our patients in Dallas, TX who want a radiant smile that functions and feels like their own teeth. An implant is a metal post that's surgically placed in your gums and jawbone (performed by a board-certified oral surgeon) to mimic the natural root of your tooth. The implanted post or posts will be connected to a restoration (crown, bridge, or dentures) for a result that is natural looking and lasts for years. If you have to replace one or more teeth, schedule a consultation at MINT dentistry in Dallas, TX. During your consultation at our modern dental practice, you will learn about our commitment to help you reach your goals while restoring optimal oral health.
All-On-4® Dental Implants
Nobel Biocare® manufactures All-on-4® dental implants, which provide a comprehensive full-arch restoration with custom dentures. All-on-4® implant dentures work by posting metal posts (the dental implants) at strategic points on the upper and/or lower arch. When compared to other implant dentures, All-on-4® uses fewer posts for a secure fit. The MINT dentistry team recommends All-on-4® implants for patients who are looking for a fully restored smile minus the hassle or the dietary restrictions of traditional dentures. A lot of our patients have reaped the benefits of the groundbreaking All-on-4® process, enjoying high-quality results. If you're interested in finding out more about All-on-4® implants and custom dentures, we encourage you to schedule a consultation.

Best Candidates for Dental Implants
The dental professionals at MINT dentistry frequently recommend an implant-supported crown, bridge, or dentures to restore your smile if you are missing one tooth or several. You may be an ideal candidate for an implant-supported crown, bridge, or denture if you currently have a traditional dental restoration but are unhappy with the way it looks or feels. At your dental implant consultation at MINT dentistry, our skilled team will assess your gums and jawbone to decide if a dental implant will help you achieve your goal smile. You are probably not a good candidate for dental implants if you suffer from gum disease, use tobacco, or are currently pregnant.
What to Expect
Prior to scheduling your appointment for implant placement, our team will decide if you require jawbone or gum grafts. If it is determined that you do, these will be completed beforehand. Once you are approved for implants, our team will schedule your first appointment to begin the process. Prior to your implant surgery, a member of our team will help you to fully relax in one of our massaging treatment chairs, where we will give you Beats headphones and MINT sunglasses. Next, your doctor will administer your anesthesia and, if needed, sedation. Then, one of our board-certified oral surgeons will make the needed incision(s) in your mouth and fit the titanium post(s) in your jawbone. We will repeat this process until all implants are in place. Finally, your doctor will close your gums, leaving the top of the implant visible over the top of your gumline. During the next several months, your post(s) will integrate with your gums and jawbone. While this occurs, a temporary crown, bridge, or denture will be placed to protect the implant(s). Once you're healed, we will connect your custom crown, bridge, or denture to the implant(s), revealing a gorgeous new smile.
Treatment Aftercare
Due to the nature of the surgery, you should expect some inflammation in your mouth and lower face as well as some bleeding, bruising, and discomfort. A certain degree of these symptoms is completely normal, but severe or prolonged symptoms should be reported to our office. Our team may write you a prescription for antibiotics and/or pain medication along with detailed aftercare instructions, like dietary recommendations, to help you recover smoothly. Once your implant(s) has integrated and your custom crown, bridge, or denture has been connected, you need to maintain a good dental care routine at home, which includes daily brushing and flossing. Follow-up appointments to check your progress will be scheduled. MINT dentistry highly recommends you keep attending annual dental exams and bi-annual cleanings so that we can help you keep your restorations gorgeous for a lifetime.
The MINT Commitment
Depending on your dental insurance and specific coverage, part of the cost of your dental implant and custom restoration may be paid. Our office will speak to your insurance provider to determine your specific benefits and determine your costs. In your initial consultation with your MINT dentistry team, we will discuss the payment methods accepted by our office and we can give you information on medical financing. At MINT dentistry, we are dedicated to making sure all our patients have a luminous smile. If you don't have dental insurance, ask a team member about the MINT Discount Plan, which can make it easier to afford restorative procedures.
